Activated carbon UAI-2 is made of birch activated carbon BAU-LV by coating its surface with silver in the amount of 0.08-0.11% by weight (300 grams in a column.) Each manufactured batch of activated carbon is tested by indicators for compliance with specifications by technology department, and by a number of additional indicators that are not reflected in the specification, but important in determining the quality of activated carbon used in distillery industry for sorting processing.
Silver-impregnated activated carbon UAI-2 is characterized by similar properties to carbon BAU-LV TU 20.14.72-001-06343907-2017. Additional application of silver on surface of activated carbon promotes for deeper sorting processing, significantly improves organoleptic properties of produced vodka, adds softness. Activated carbon UAI-2 is as much as possible adapted for production of liquors and its practical application in a number of enterprises has demonstrated that the vodka being produced is better in its taste properties.
This activated carbon is mainly used for treatment of water-alcohol solutions at distillery plants.
